Why it's done this way
Moss holds water against the tile, lifts and displaces it, and sheds debris straight into the gutters. Pressure washing a roof strips the protective surface off concrete tile, drives water under the laps and can shorten the life of the roof by years. Softwashing kills the growth in place and lets weather carry it off, with no pressure on the tile and no water forced past the laps.

We check tile type, condition, pitch and access. Fragile or failing roofs are flagged before anything is quoted.

Loose moss taken off and gutters and downpipes cleared so debris cannot block the drainage.

Treat
Low-pressure biocide across the full plane, including ridge, valleys and verges.

Weather off
Dead growth breaks down and washes away naturally over the following weeks. No second visit needed.

Do you scrape or pressure wash the roof?
Neither, as a rule. Heavy loose moss is removed by hand, then the roof is softwashed. Pressure washing concrete tile strips the surface and shortens the life of the roof.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we have access to the property and an outside water supply if required.
Will the gutters be blocked afterwards?
No. We clear the gutters and downpipes as part of the job so the falling debris has somewhere to go.
How often should a roof be treated?
Most roofs hold up for two years or more after a softwash. Shaded and tree-lined properties may need it sooner.
